Niela Braeloren is the wizard Hermedhie, and has recently aligned herself with Medoere and Ruornil?s Celestial Spell.

An old source domain, the wizard Hermedhie took its current shape when Niela Braeloren succeeded her father, Seòras Bhailie better known know to the world as Seòras of the Crystal Staff. Seòras had been the wizard of Diemed and collaborated with the Dukes there frequently. However as the situation of the old Duchy grew more perilous old Seòras became less concerned with this world and more interested in the Shadow World. His arcane rival, Lucien of the Seven Stars pressed on this source domain from the west, while Diemed's position in Medoere deteriorated. Lucien won the sources Seòras held in Avanil and Seòras retired to focus his attention exclusively on the Shadow World. Niela Braeloren succeeded as wizard two decades ago, and immediately sought to shore up her position lest Moeran Aglondier or the Sword Mage strike at her remaining holdings. She might have considered fighting alongside Diemed to preserve a valuable ally, but two considerations prevented her. One is that she saw Medoere as a significant problem for Diemed that would drain her resources at a time when she felt vulnerable. The other was that the rebel realm of Medoere was a champion of Ruornil's Celestial Spell, a temple to which her family had long allegiance. Niela decided on a course that would result in the realignment of Hermedhie among the powers, making a secure and lasting peace with Moeran Aglondier, and his heir Rogr Aglondier and becoming an ally of Medoere.
