The colony of Rjalford on Thaele was established by Jankaping three years ago, and has struggled since. Jarl Haldan Njarik (MRj; Re, minor, 10; LN) is a competent leader and administrator, but the colony is located in a hopelessly rugged area and is periodically ravaged by ice trolls and fhoimoriens as well as by harsh weather conditions. Its few hundred citizens barely manage to survive from year to year. A land of snow and ice separates them from Tjarvaald with the Thaelasian Passage to the south.
