Raesene Isilviere is the son of Joshua Isilviere and Maura Boeruine. His father, a member of the Isilviere family, married the youngest daughter of Archduke Donald Boeruine and settled in Boeruine. He served Boeruine as a captain of elite infantry during the reigns of Donald and Borric Boeruine. He was awarded lands in Redoubt and Nietier.
Raesene is a man obsessed with hunting awnsheghlien and destroying them. He has his sights on two in particular: Prince Raesene Andu, better known as the Gorgon, and the Elf, Rhuobhe Manslayer. He believes that these two awnsheghlien are a pox on Mankind, and they should be wiped off the face of Aebrynis. Ever since Eldried Boeruine killed his beloved wife, Raesene has been on the rampage destroying awnsheghlien.
Raesene walks a lonely road. He has no squires to attend him, and his horse is tough and grizzled. He himself is tough, and physically fit for a man his age. He puts on his armor himself, and lives as a Knight Errant, seeking justice. Raesene has no children, and no ties to anyone but the Isilviere family. Nothing but revenge burns in his heart. A particular quality that makes Belinik and/or Kriesha happy. Raesene is dangerously close to becoming either a Paladin of Destruction or a Paladin of Tyranny. However, he is still devoted to Haelyn and tries to live up to Haelyn's ideals.
So far he has not commited bloodtheft on any of Azrai's children. Somehow, he has been spared the God of Pride's essence.
