Typical Dialogue:

Welcome to Silverwell traveler, your pilgrimage is ended and you are welcome indeed in our lord's hall, rest now and listen to the singers while your ills are tended.

Something crossed over yester-eve, we must find and destroy it 'ere it strike some unfortunate.

You dabble with evils far beyond your ken, why else would the whisperings come to you in the night, and not while you walk Erik's forests in contemplation? Set aside your dreams of a yesterday that never was and lead your people back to their homes.

The most senior priestess of Ruornil in Anuire outside of Medeore, Lirr O' the Well, tends to the ancient temple of Vorynn in Silverwell. Lirr is attended by several acolytes and is allied to local wildlife, in particular owls and wolves.

Many a local lad has spent evenings shivering on the hillside hoping to catch a glimpse of the priestesses of Ruornil who are said to bathe in the well and the faith is frequently spoken against by the staid Haelynites for its supposed lewdness.

Lirr has led the faithful of Ruornil in Dhoesone for at least two centuries and still appears to be but a lass, while she is still respected the temple has little influence nowadays beyond the village of Silverwell, and even in the village as many of the people follow either Haelyn or, following several firebrand speeches by Father Pais, Erik. If Lirr mourns the loss of influence of the temple a century ago to the knights of Haelyn she says nothing of her sorrow.

[top]Plots and rumors

[top]Secrets within secrets

Although the Well is famed as a place of tranquility and respite, it hides a dark secret. In caves along the mountainside are the remnants of an ancient goblin temple complex dedicated to the worship of fiends. Lirr has long feared that public knowledge of the ancient temples would make the rumors of dark practices carried on by the Ruornilites more credible. As such Lirr has suppressed knowledge of the caverns and dealt with the occasional goblin raid or minor Shadow World outbreak herself with the aid of her dwindling band of allies.

[top]Silver in Moonlight

During the New Moon, particularly in winter, the Shadow World encroaches on the area and demons and undead can cross from the Shadow World. During full moons of summer however the opposite occurs and those in the well can see, and sometimes even cross into, the spirit world where fey spirits yet live and the Seelie hold court.
