The Brotherhood of Khet is a secret society of merchants and increasingly craftsmen as well. It is run by a leader so secret, most of her confederates know nothing of her identity. Turiye min Saida is unknown even to the other Red Kings of Aftane. She and they rule Aftane, although the Brotherhood has had success recruiting members in Ariya as well.

The Brotherhood has its main centers of business in Aftane and in those Ariyan provinces controlled by the Red Kings' men.
