Brechtür » Rzhlev » Nyurehv

Nyurehv takes all the eastern side of the central plains in Brechtür, starting from the plains around Mount Edar, up to the Eastern Range. The region is rich in hills and rivers, but farmers here prefer grain and rice instead of olives. Similar to the neighbouring province of Nyurskyy, Nyurehv takes most of the population in the plains, preferring to leave the misty mountains in the east uninhabited, as they are too close to the Mistmoor. Weird fires or screams are sometime heard from the eastern mountains, carried by the wind during winter.

The province used to belong to another family until 441 MR, when Gregor Molev killed the whole Gorth family for remaining loyal to the last Zvetjeskegian Tsar Mikail Pyotrovisk. The Nyur family controls the province as an extension of their own province, although the last ruler, Maria Nyur, has a different opinion on the matter.

The province is kept in order by a permanent infantry unit. Like Nyurskyy, the population is mostly Brecht and has found little to no use for Belinik's teachings, however Maria Nyur does not share her older brother's patience towards the cult of Ayiarden Vierklevven. She looks toward the tsarina as a role model and want to impress her by showing how loyal the province is to the regent and her teachings. She, however, has done much to avoid external interference: animosity toward Nyurskyy has exploded more than once into raids in her family's home (disguised as brigands), and the zhupan always see to clean and present the old local Belinik's priest as in high regard when some real warpriest passes over, to avoid drawing too much attention.

Note that in battle, Nyurehv units sport the banner of the Nyur family, although the province sometimes uses the black eye under the same color.

[top]Gorthrekj

The city of Gorthrekj (/gˈortrekʲɪ/, *GORTH-rey-kj*) was a major trade center connecting an ancient Brecht trade route from the north now long gone. The newest part of the town is around Castle Nyur, where the Zhupan lives, and is fashioned in a Vos manner. Three to four blocks south of the Vos quarters are uninhabited and in ruin, and they often shelter to slaves, rogues, and anybody not wanting to raise too much attention. Then now senior Executioner Yuri blackhand wanders the old town looking for trouble and ghosts.

From the eastern part of the old town a road connects Gorthrekj to ancient mines, now unused because of an ankheg infestation. Rumor is that giant ants really exists in the lower levels, along with mysterious fungal creatures serving to some evil magician.

Continuing south from the ant farm (i.e., southeast of Gortrekj), the Eastern Range abruptly ends in a series of collapsed hills, opening myriad of temporary, unstable passages toward the Mistmoor. This area is pretty much uninhabited as many people of the province fear the spirits that wander from the moor at night.
