List of Prestige Class ideas
For a personal project, I`m looking for a list of prestige classes apt to a
Birthright game. I especially would like military-oriented prestige classes
for the various races, but any ones will do. I don`t need the writeups,
just need the names or basic ideas.
Anyone game?

I could see a BR-specific general/commander prestige class, with most of his benefits being based around the recruitment and war card system.
Keep in mind i really need to re-read the new war card system so some of this may be obsolete.
i'd say a 5-level prc
hd, bab, and save progression as a fighter
Say he starts out with relatively small stuff like extra morale bonuses to any war card he stacks with in battle. then later on maybe up the speed of any units he directly oversees in the recruitment of, and cut a GB from the muster costs of those units (make this take an extra domain action to represent his personally training the raw recruits). maybe he can improve existing units with special training like marine/scout/shield formation/etc at a lowered cost. and finally say at level five he cuts maintenance costs of his units by a fair amount (maybe 1/4) because of the confidence and loyalty he inspires in his men.
(edit) could also make the Leadership feat a prerequisite and let the character gradually turn his followers into an elite unit.Last edited by manetherin; 06-28-2007 at 12:46 PM.

The most obvious one is the arcane archer from the DMG -- as written (mechanics especially), it strongly implies to me that it should be restricted to blooded elves, or perhaps source-holding elves and halfelves. In fact, if there's only one on the continent, it's clearly Rhuobhe Manslayer (who doesn't shoot arrows at all, just energy bolts like the ranger from the D&D cartoon of old).

A big list?
Are you looking for just that kind of PrC, or a list of all PrCs? I worked up a list over the last few years (but have not maintained it for perhaps a year) of PrCs in WotC hardbacks and Dragon mags.
I separated the classes by whether or not I would accept them into my BR campaign.
Hmm, maybe I will research uploading, because I can see the document on my hard drive still.

concepts for prestige classes. Some of them I will write up as prestige
classes, but most of the others will only get a small paragraph description,
"these guys are here". I just need the names or a two-or-three word
description to work off of.
The obvious place I`m starting is all the specialized units from the old war
cards. If you want to post your list, that would be helpful, too.

IIRC, Green Ronin has a bunch of prestige classes that I have always
thought were, at least, named things that would be appropriate to
BR. Nobles, knights, jesters, courtiers, etc. I have some of that
material around someplace. GR always struck me as losing something
in the implementation....

Green Ronin does much, much better when they have a clear campaign concept to hang a class on then when they are building generic d20 classes. I suppose that would be generally true as well.

I can suggest "Guilder" PrC (all about efficient rule of the holdings and finding useful hirelings, boost on Appraise and Diplomacy, but no stealth skills, sneak attacks and other "improved instakills"
) and Explorer (mix of Noble and Ranger/Scout, great at holding creation, long-distant trade and exploration missions, may be with boosted Spot and Diplomacy or Intimidate).
Another idea (more for NPC) - chatelaine PrC. Specialized Noble with great pluses to Kn. (local), and any Warfare, Rule and other related checks in single province (he knew his neighbours well, but have no knowledge on grand scale).
