Sorry, no offense meant. However I didn't mean this as an insult. As
far as I know there are two catagories for vertically challenged. I think
that dwarves are those who are not proportioned in the same way same other
people. They have short thick fingers, toes arms etc.
Midgets on the other hand look like well proportioned people, except
only in miniature. This is how I remember it, maybe it is the other way around.
Once again I apologize for any insult.

Did you breathe at all while you typed this? Never mind.

Look Rob, just because you don't recieve any active support on the
list doesn't mean that there is no one behind you. Many people just lurk
this list and others don't want to be drawn into this thread.
I agree that gnomes should have something done about them in BR. It
just isn't fair to them otherwise. However, I find standard AD&D gnomes or
those of any other campaigns (DL :) uncerilian. At best the most cerilified
gnome that exists to date is, IMHO, the forest gnome in the book of gnomes
and halflings, except that they can ditch the pointy hats.
I think that most people fear the introduction of the gnome into
cerilia because it may upset the precarious balance that there exists
between human and Demihuman races. Cerilia is a humanocentric continent,
there is no denying this. It is the only campaign world that takes the time
and effort to describe the different sub-humans (that does NOT sound right
;) . If we were to give more space to the demihumans we would be encouraging
them over humans. IMO the humans were given stat modifiers in Br to
    encourage their use.
Anyway, BR is already complete with the races it has, it is just a
matter of opinion whether or not gnomes should be included. If you put them
in your campaign then fine, you are opening up another aspect of Br for
exploration in your campaign. Others may not want them and explore other
concepts. I, for example, left them out so that my player (note the
singular) will play somethng else for a change. After all, BR is unique, so
    should the characters.

NO GNOMES! Please! After DL I was glad to see this race left out.
Anyway, Dwarves and Halflings are enough runts running around.

    Sean,

Look in the Rule Book on pg 89. AD&D Monsters in Cerilia.
Gnomes are listed on this chart. So somewhere in Cerilia there is at
least 1 small group of gnomes.

    hello, Adam Theo here,
i don't think so...IMO, gnomes seem to me that they should be what they
were in RL fiction of olde: little guys in the Black Forest who loved to
stay hidden until the right moment to cause trouble. having them as PCs
just seems to take away from that role which i liked. if gnomes are
introduced as PCs, then please have them as not being in any important
roles, so that anyone wanting to remove them can w/o interfereing mit
    the official say-so-stuff. thanks.

I have to agree with this. I like the fact that there are Gnomes in
Cerilia, but they are not a PC race. Although I would like to see more
info. on them for use as an NPC race. A unique touch, to have a normally PC
available race regulated to that of NPC. While Goblins, normally just a
weak monster, get the chance to be treated as a possible PC race. Something
else that makes me love BR.

Hehe..I agree..I am all for keeping Cerilia Gnome-free..I too think they
are a bit too magical and ala DragonLance, just a bit too odd to appear in
    every world produced by TSR
