    - ->Absolutely. I have been in campaigns in other campaign worlds whereI have
    - ->seen characters toss magic items over a cliff because "...they were
    - ->only +1!". Characters should appreciate the things that they have, when
    - ->someone brings a character a gift of a normal weapon that is +1 to hit due
    - ->to its fine craftsmanship, players will appreciate it much more.

I have to say that I give quite much magical stuff, mostly potions and
scrolls, more permanent items has been fewer, but I still can't say it's few.
The PC's can be carrying 10-20 potions with them, but they usually don't know
what most of them does, as I don't allow identify to give any information
about the potion. Usually they have to guess what it's as I try to give each
potion a color which has something common with the effect (e.g. potion of
flying -> blue) and sometimes they may even have some sort of a sign (e.g.
potion of flying -> person with wings), the color and sign can be the same for
another potion too, so there is some sort of unsecurity to drink one. So you
all can guess how glad the players is when they get a potion which htey do
know what the effect will be.
Atlest I'm not just puting all the magical items in the treasure vault, but
the NPC's do use, so the players has many times left the magical items behind
as they don't know they where (the number of detect magic is limited, the
clerics usually has healing spells and wizards attack spells and maybe one or
two detects). And I have sometimes used magical items which changes bonus with
alignment of the user (e.g. a mace is +1 for evil, normal mace for neutral and
for good it's a cirsed weapon).
The only thing which I don't usually use, is personal treasures and when I do,
it's usually a few coins. I wonder if anyone does give those personal
treasures or just saying they don't have anything.
