Absolutely. I have been in campaigns in other campaign worlds whereI have seen
characters toss magic items over a cliff because "...they were
only +1!". Characters should appreciate the things that they have, when
someone brings a character a gift of a normal weapon that is +1 to hit due
to its fine craftsmanship, players will appreciate it much more. Other
characters may seek to have that smith make a weapon for them. If
everyone has their own pocket DeathStar, then who needs a normal sword
that is +1 to hit.
