Birthright: Total War ?
Various threads about modding Gorgon's Alliance or new game development has got me thinking...
Has anyone in the Birthright community played the computer game Total War? I would think so. Depending on the exact version, i know the game is quite moddable (Rome for example). It seems to me a mod for Birthright would be a great match.
Has anyone attempted this?

I haven't, but I think the Total War Warhammer would be a perfect match. There are 3 installments of the game, currently only 1-2 is released the 3rd is in development.
One law, One court, One allied people, One coin, and one tax, is what I shall bring to Cerilia.

You welcome!
I haven't tried that mod myself but my friend did and really liked it.

One of the hallmarks of the Total War series is the two-in-one approach. You have the main strategic map portion of the game. But when armies engage, it goes to a 3d real-time battle, where you can direct units (each with own abilities and statistics), and zoom in and see individual soldiers fighting and dying.
Does Crusader Kings II have something similar? All the screenshots i've seen seem to be on the strategic side only.

The link below is the battle map. This is what the battle phase looks like, a popup window on the over all political map I believe.

There are a few abilities, iirc, that you can use to enhance your chances while the battle calculates the damage and casualties during the battle phase.
edit: you can adjust the troops/units under each officer too. Each column head is a different officer and you have an over all general. It has been awhile since I've played it. Simple overview of the combat from the wiki or wikia for the game should provide more details.Last edited by Magian; 08-11-2018 at 09:30 AM.
