Or I like the suggestion of the 1/24th having its own name. "Talent"
comes to mind, or "shilling" or something. If coins are supposed to be about 50
to the pound, then 24 is a half-pound (more or less), so a "half-pound?"

Using a more decimal system makes a lot more sense for me. As an Aussie, I don't use Imperial measurements like inches or feet, pounds and ounces so I think of things in terms of decimal points rather than fractions. How about making the system more international?

It wasn`t written to use fractions to make the system
American-centric. National and international has nothing to do with
it, it`s a fictional setting.

I agree that it should use decimals, though.

I doubt the currency system has anything to do with Americanism - indeed, 100 cents to the dollar is something we have in common with the Yanks.

:^) I'm not saying that it is too American or English or anything. I am just pointing out that I as a person don't have to deal regularly with standard units of measurement in terms of fractions. So it would be easier for *me* if BRCS was decimalised across the board as I feel that people in general will be able to make faster calculations in their head with a decimalised system than a fractionated system. Faster = easier = better.
