    When Night Falls

Hello everyone. I am beginning a new pbem called When Night Falls and I
have a question that I am curious as to what everyone's thoughts might be
    on.

The game will be beginning in Brosengae, in the city of Bindier (Bin dee
air). I have my own vision of what the city may be like, but I am
interested in what your opinions might be of what you expect the city and
mood of the nation might be. Below is a brief introduction of my
    particular vision:

"For as long as the anuirean race as lived upon the continent the Seamist
mountains of western Anuire have held great mystery and foreboding to its
neighbors. One could look upon the eastern side and see the glory of
yesteryear and the promise of the future of the lost empire within the low
rolling hills and fertile valleys of the Avanese lands. To the north lies
the mist shrouded mountainous valleys of the Manslayer, The Elf -- -- a
wonder from an ancient time that still lingers within the region spreading
harm to all humans foolish enough to dare trespass his vision. Following
the chain to its conclusion we find the mountains ending with the small
duchy of Brosengae and the City of Vice within its borders Bindier (Bin dee
air). It was once said that the realm of Brosengae was a powerful merchant
kingdom but through a forced vassalage with the powerful Avanil to its
northwest the rulers have fallen on celebrations and displays of
debauchery to hide their once strong earning for independence. Now the
city is home to the foppish rich and the knave poor and everything in
    between.
Rumors abound on the streets of midnight disappearances. Dalliances of a
noble lady with those beneath her station and also of an influx of sailors
fresh from the southern expeditions of the Adurian barbarian lands . It is
said that Bindier is not a huge city but large enough to smother one's
dreams beneath a cudgel of an evening impressment patrol or bright enough
to hold the glint of the magistrate's finest crystal within one's grasp.
Seldom do things come with out a cost or toll to be paid, and in Brosengae
they who pay the most entertain themselves as they please.
Welcome to the city. You can smell the fish from the harbors and see the
mountains miles away to the north. This is your city, this is Home."

I see the city as a haven for those idle rich whose dreams of conquest are
smothered by the ever increasing power of Avanil. Where if gains are to be
made it is in court and with a many friends to have just the right ear.
For the poorer and those of questionable natures (the ruling class too), I
envision the city as a teaming pool of vagrancy where a person's vice's are
exploited and justice comes only with the amount of influence one wields.
Does anyone else have a different view? Or perhaps similar view?

I thank you for your assistance.

The descriptions sound quite good to me, although I do not have any
preconcieved notions on how it should be, never having played in the West.
Well, I guess I have a preconcieved notion now, because I thought your
    description was pretty good.

Only thing: I thought from the description on the Anuirean language card,
the name Bindier would have been pronounced "bin-DEER" rather than
"BIN-dee-air." But then again those pronounciation guidlines are pretty
difficult, so I might be wrong. After all, in my group, after hours of
debate, we eventually settled on the pronounciation of Roesone to be
    "roe-SAUN."

According to the wave files Rich Baker posted up on the TSR site, the
former is the correct pronounciation. (Oh, and your right about the way
    Roesone is pronounced, Mark) :D

    Cheers,
    Darren
