My son, how could you bring yourself to this? Sera grant I find some way that you may escape your fate, mayhap my old friend Kurt of Drachenward may know of someone who may help.

[top]Biography:

Theresa Tallen is the Gräfin of Talhundt. Her husband is Lamprecht Stark, and her children are Otto Tallen, Averil Tallen, and Everard Tallen. Her parents were Torsten Tallen and Averil Baen.
Theresa is a well-loved woman in her province but is constantly derided by the Stark's as a dreamer who needs to clamp down on malcontents and she is often the subject of long diatribes from the church of Sera's Perfect Symmetry to make her encourage the Independent Churches of Sera to rejoin the mother church.
Theresa is no push-over though. An adventurer in her youth, she now lives vicariously through the adventuring groups that she sponsors, glorying in their victories, sympathizing in their travails and grieving in their deaths. She has contacts throughout the Eastern Basin States from her own adventuring days and from adventurers she has subsequently sponsored.
Theresa is a patron of the arts, and the Tallenhaven players put the actors of many Brecht cities to shame with their skill. Bards are welcome in Tallenhaven and bring cheer to the people through the cold winters.
Theresa is an expert on the Rjurik and spent several years in various Rjurik realms in her youth, Ilse Redbedtehr contacts Theresa frequently to discuss how best to deal with the Rjurik and the two are good friends.
Although Theresa?s family is mostly well thought of; her younger son Everard Tallen has got himself into scrape after scrape, usually over a woman or gold. Recently however he has outdone himself, he killed his cousin, Richard Stark in a duel ? and refuses to explain why to the Pfalzgraf, Erik Danig; normally this would be settled by a substantial fine and a period of exile (nobles are almost never slain or sent to Ebondell), but Everard?s silence and Heinrich Stark's fury over his heir's death have made the headsman?s axe a near certainty - to Theresa?s consuming terror.
