Birthright spell

[top]Overview

+5 bonus on craft or profession checks for the day. Source: Eberron (modified).

[top]Description

The spell makes a craftsman's hands more sure, their confidence better judged, the understanding of their profession more complete. Under the receipt of the spell the craftsman finds that their craft comes readily too them and they can work to a higher standard easily, or work to a competent standard more swiftly than usual.

[top]Notes

The spell can make master-work items relatively simple for a skilled craftsman, and allow even a novice to easily produce common items. The spell cast on a true master can make them capable of outstanding feats and the routine use of the spell over a period of weeks allow the crafting of extra-ordinary artifacts.
The spell is known by nearly every Brecht spell-caster and forms the bread-and-butter spell work of minor minor magicians. The spell sees some use in Anuire although it s primarily used only by lesser hedge wizards and considered beneath the station of a true mage. Although the spell is known amongst the Khinasi, the cerebral Khinasi rarely deign to squander precious magic on mere common smiths or laborers.

[top]Tips and Tactics

This is a 'working man's' spell typically used by hedge wizards. It has no adventure level impact and so should not count towards a wizards maximum number of known spells if that rule is in force in the campaign.

[top]AD&D spell version
