"I recommend caution Lady Baroness, the guilds provide employment to many of your people. Cast them out or chain them with petty restrictions as some suggest and half your people would starve - or rise up in rebellion"

"As ever Andien and Sons is most generous - fear not! I shall quash these vile rumors post haste and see your logging rights renewed by next moon goodman Bannier!"

[top]Biography:

Rogr Gaskard is Count of Tradebhein.
This cowardly fool is the last of a once great line, his elder brother Ruinil Gaskard was such a proven craven that he was passed over for the title and now serves Storm as factor. Whatever atrocity the guilds commit Rogr can be guaranteed to have some excuse for it. Rogr was named apostate for changing from the faith of Haelyn to Sera following harsh words with James Ardannt. Rogr is married to Jadrien Brynnor of Mhoried, she left Dhoesone over a decade ago to 'visit her mother' and has seen no reason to return to her home, or husband, since.
Rogr saps his provinces wealth with duties and taxes and then squanders his gains on frivolities or grand projects that inevitably fail - to be blamed on this minion or that. Rogr attends every fine event in the realm but rarely holds such things himself earning a poor reputation amongst his peers. Rogr rarely hunts and avoids battle like the plague so is scorned by counts such as Dhariel and Nolien. Rogr finds some company from Counts Holst and Huire but generally only when they wish him to be their stooge.
