A hunt? Capital idea Aedric, capital! Game ever chases away the tedium and proves a man's mettle.
You have but to ask Lady Baroness and our liege will happily provide more troops to aid Dhoesone, 'tis surely dangerous to leave so much of the realm's defense in the hands of the sidhe?
Egad peasant, be away with yon pitchfork! 'Twas well past time your daughter lay with a man and no nobler a plow would you find for her in this desolate land! A silver for your wounded pride and be glad of my twice-fold charity!

[top]Biography

This aristocratic lordling of Avanil led a unit of knights north in answer to the call of Haelyn's Bastion of Truth. While he despairs of 'living in the styx' and constantly needs to inform Dhoesoneans of how to treat their betters, Randall is beginning to enjoy life away from the gaze of Prince Avan. He has also found that a life of riding about hunting goblins, bandits, stags and dallying with the local girls suits him to the full - no need for shill-shallying around with soft words in this wild benighted land!

A fop and dandy Randall is oblivious to the politics behind his posting - his aide Manchamps deals with all that sort of nonsense.

The Viscount has aroused the anger of Mheallie Bireon by requisitioning supplies from her guild (and more particularly by his cavalier approach to payment). Randall has however become close to Adaere Doneim who seems to have a proper respect for nobility - and a bottomless port cellar. Randall has a deep respect for the knights and priests of Haelyn - a real god who understands the importance of fighting men.

Randall was sent to Dhoesone as much to get him out of Avanil where he was causing trouble as to win favor with the church. The viscount was too senior to be casually dealt with for his constant gaffes but was unwittingly ruining the prince's subtle diplomacy with his arrogance and social blunders.

Randall is set on proving Avan's power through military force. He thinks that if he is successful the Prince may take a more martial approach in the south instead of wasting time with his constant diplomacy.

Currently Randall is battling goblins and their like in Soniele after Adaere Doneim encouraged him to see the goblins as the key threat to the realm. Randall has been intrigued by talk of treasures in the Giantdowns - leading his men to unearth the buried treasures of the giants sounds suitably heroic to him and the tales of piles of gold lying around for the taking have fired his ambition.

The only fly in the ointment in Randall's posting is the increasingly focused attacks of the Red Fist clan. The savage brutes not only lack the consideration to die in a suitably pleasing manner but increasingly have the audacity to ambush Randall's men! Randall has made dealing with the goblins his personal goal and offered, in strict defiance of the Baroness's law, a bounty for every goblin scalp brought to him.

[top]Ghosts in the woods

So far Randall has been unable to score a solid victory over the goblins, his knights swiftly rooted out several bandit camps, but the goblins always seem to be one step ahead of the knights, indeed the very forest seems to act against them for his men often become lost within its tangled trees. Randall has offered a small fortune for guidance to either a tree village of the goblins, or the Grimpen Mire that they are said to hold sacred - if his men can secure the small swamp then surely the goblins will cease their sniping attacks and come to meet him in numbers - where they can, of course, be crushed!
