Highcastle

Anuire » Roesone » Caercas » Highcastle
The city of Highcastle was established as a town by the Deretha after they settled on the Spider River during the Flight from the Shadow. In old Andu, "Highcastle" was the word "Caercas", and the province is still called by this name.
Highcastle was a natural location for a settlement. The Spider River is navigable by ocean vessels up to this point, and a tall crag of good solid rock overlooked the location, and has proven an excellent location for several fortifications since the first Black Tower was erected there.
The town was renamed when Roesone was formed. The mighty glaives of Karl Ritter's Blaue Hechte won the day against Diemed's Uchaene Shaeme, and so earned the honor of the new name, Proudglaive.
