[top]Introduction

The Mountains of the Docandragh possess some of the purest and most powerful magical potential in all of Cerilia. When Taeric Uluine, the Gray Shadow came here from Anuire on pilgrimage to the Temple of Rilni, he became the guardian of a small domain.

[top]The Land

[top]Ayandir

Ayandir is a mountain province full of spices. Cinnamon and nutmeg grow here. Eyas is a village that prospers on the spice trade, but it is a fairly lawless environment. Taeric Uluine is concerned that too much order will draw settlers to profit from the spices. This rugged province is full of the purest Mebhaighl in Cerilia. Taeric believes that rituals performed nearby at the Temple of Rilni purify and protect the sources here.

[top]Ras Mhin

Ras Mhin is a jungle province in which the interior is especially dense and considered impassable. Settlement is not a concern here. Taeric shares control of the sources here with the Emira Kalilah bint Farid el-Mashil.

[top]Sahadein

Sahadein is a forest-savanna mosaic that transitions from sudan in the west to jungle in the east as elevation rises. Its two major settlements, Maja and Bahara have little contact, drawing their living from contact with distinct trade networks. The Docandragh Coster has tried to control trade in both towns and extend their caravan networks between them, but Taeric has subtly thwarted their efforts, afraid that continued development might attract settlers here and even, may Ruornil thwart it, Ayandir.

[top]History

When Taeric Uluine, the Gray Shadow came here from Anuire on pilgrimage to the Temple of Rilni, he met the lovely Su'ad al-Sabi, and fell in love. Her father, Hassan al-Najm was the guardian of a small domain. Taeric and Su'ad wandered the Drocandragh for the past two decades. When Hassan died, Taeric approached Emira Kalilah bint Farid el-Mashil, expecting to pay dearly, as Anuirean regents would impose a very high relief to the potential inheritor of any benefice. He was pleasantly surprised when the emria asked only for the level 1 Source holding in Zulaf, a populated province with low magic potential. Taeric did not know that the Emira was well acquainted with the exploits of Taeric and Su'ad and welcomed a hero into her realm. The Emira also offered to provide regular financial support if Taeric would renew the oaths which Hassan has sworn. This obligated Taeric to aid the realm should it be threatened, and the Gray Shadow will willing to enter into so light an obligation for the security and inheritance of this magically rich realm. The Emira promised Taeric that she would not encourage settlement to attempt to develop the lands where Taeric's sources lay.
