Time, seasons, and holidays » Festival of the Forge
The Festival of the Forge is held to celebrate dwarven craftsmanship, approve the promotion of apprentices to journeymen, prove worthiness of journeymen to wed, etc. The Dwarves tend to take the festival very seriously if one of their family is offering their works as proof of competence but otherwise see it as a time of great celebration and joy in the works of their best craftsmen.
Neighbours of the Dwarves often see the festival as a chance to visit dwarven lands and buy dwarven goods, commission pieces, etc. This is a good way for a canny merchant to obtain dwarven goods at ?knock down? prices ? the apprentices charge far less than would a master, but even apprentice work by a dwarf is high craftsmanship indeed to any of the human nations of Cerilia.
