    I agree that this is dangerous; but I also agree that their is a lot of die
    rolling involved in BR (though, IMO, this isn't as much a problem as, say,
    refereeing taxation rolls for multiple PC realms, then for NPCs as well).
    Might it be possible to do some kind of "point system?" I.E. each blood
    ability is given a "cost" based on its relative power and usefulness,
    modified by how "common" it is in the gameworld (I.E. a powerful ability,
    but one that is supposedly more commonly found, would cost slightly less,
    and a less powerful but rare one slightly more). PCs could then select
    blood abilities up to a point limit equal to or less than their bloodline
    strength. This would then duplicate the system, for the most part (stronger
    bloodlines having more, and more powerful, abilities than weak ones), and
    would get rid of much of the abuse of both methods (PCs who get to pick 'em
    not having to make tradeoffs, and PCs who just happen to always be "lucky"
    and roll Invulnerability and Regeneration). With this method, you could
    cross check and see that they are within the "point limit" for their
    character. I always like customization, anyhow, as a player and a dm. If
    people like this idea, we could work on a chart with suggested point costs
    for the various blood abilities (if people don't like this idea, you didn't
    hear it from me, and I don't remember suggesting it...)

    Somehow I did miss alot mail from this maillinglist and haven't read the
    original message, but I think I have the solution for your problem. The t=
    ables
    is only based on the bloodabilities from the rulebook in the campaignsett=
    ings.
    It should be approx
    the same possibility to get a special power when you are using thise as u=
    seing
    the original table, but much less rerolls.
