An autocratic domain relies mostly on the regent himself, without the institutional support of the nobles, guilds, temples, or sources. The word autocracy comes from the Greek ???????????, meaning "self-rule" or "he who rules by one's self". Such a regent cannot rely, at least ultimately, on the domain to serve him without some combination of charisma, fear of the regent, and fear of the domain's enemies to maintain power. Jaison Raenech's rule in Osoerde is autocratic, and Vos domains of all kinds prefer autocratic regents who can defeat rivals through strength.
