Aspergill

An aspergill (or aspergillum) is a tool used to sprinkle holy water. It comes in two common forms: a brush that is dipped in the water and shaken, and a perforated ball at the end of a short handle. Some have internal reservoirs that dispense holy water when shaken, others rely on being dipped in an aspersorium (holy water bucket) periodically.
Laerme's priestesses prefer to use a perforated ball on the end of a hollow rod, the rod is filled with water (often colored light blue by dye), a sponge of some sort lies at the base of the ball to delay the water's escape. As the aspergill is swung, centrifugal force drives water from the rod into the ball, where it is released in a fine spray along the arc of the swing.
