The Amulet of the Bear is the traditional symbol of the Archdruid of Cariele and is currently worn by Archdruid Euric Aelis. The amulet was made long ago in the Rjurik Highlands by Druids of the Emerald Spiral and granted to missionaries to Anuire to show the strength of the natural world to the militant Anuireans.

The Amulet of the Bear is one of seven amulets made by Archdruid Buri Snorrison of the Emerald Spiral over a thousand years ago. Each amulet was made to reflect the spirit of a particular totem animal and grant the powers of the totem animal to the wearer. The amulets were used by the druids of the Spiral to aid the Rjurik faithful against raiders and goblin war-bands. The amulet's power is said to wax and wane with the faith of the bearer.

The amulet is a bronze bear about 3 inches long and half as tall. It has two small green garnets as eyes, and silver tips to its claws and teeth. The amulet has two supports on its back and can thus be worn as a necklace or sewn to clothing as a brooch.

To activate the magic of the brooch one must make a knowledge (nature) check, where the bonus to constitution and strength gained depends on the success of the check. The check can only be made once a day, the bearer can take 10 if they so desire.
NB. The only known Amulet of the Bear has a maximum bonus of +6 - the creation cost is merely to aid DMs to scale similar items.
