This is directed to the 3e Birthright Design Team.

I am trying to draw up the NPCs for my PS of Diemed and I am wondering what domains are being used for each god in the new suppliment. Well I have quite a number of other questions relating to how NPCs and PCs are going to be created in the new suppliment.

I would love to be able to write this module as one of the first items for the new 3eCS. Who should I direct my questions to on the staff? I don`t want to flood this list with questions that can be handled via direct email.

I can you an answer on the domain info for birthright's gods (which is in chapter 4 or the BRCS).

Avani (Glory, Sun, reason, knowledge, magic)
    Erik (Animal, Earth, Plant, Travel)
    Haelyn (Justice, Law, Nobility, War)
Moradin (Artifice, Creation, Dwarf, earth, good)
Belinik (Chaos, Evil, fear, hatred, war)
Nesirie (Community, Good, Healing, Repose, Sea, Water)
    Sera (Luck, Trade, Travel, Wealth)
Cuiraecen (Chaos, Good, Strength, Storm, War)
    Eloele (Chaos, Evil, Night, Trickery)
    Kriesha (Evil, Law, Pain, Winter)
    Laerme (Charm, Chaos, Flame, Good)
Ruornil (Knowledge, Magic, Moon, Rune, Spell)
    Cold Rider (Death, Evil)

This list is not final though, this only represents the current draft info, and the chapter is not even complete enough to call it a first draft yet, I'm still busy editing and adding material.

I can answer any other questions you might have about gods/relgions, either like this, or by e-mail (hoss@chariot.net.au). I'm sure the other memebers of the development team will be able to help you with questions you have about other chapters.

Quite a few of these domains are not Open Game content. How do you plan
    to deal with that?

The domains listed are not necessarily those presented in the official products. For example, there is a Moon domain in the FRCS, but it is not the same as our version. The same goes for the Hatred, Storm, Rune, etc domains. Out versions are significantly different, only the names are the same (and in most cases we were using those domain names before the FRCS was released).

I suggest you try to find your own names for these domains. It might involve
very simple changes, such as "Moradin`s Runes", but I wouldn`t use the same
    names.

    First, to avoid confusion.

Second, "using" something before a published WotC source is not really good
enough under the OGL - It is very restrictive that way. If WotC thinks you
have usurped their "product identity", you actually have to have had
something PUBLISHED before they do in order to be protected.

Third, as the legal grounds of conversion manuals is loose at best - based
on an early, unoffical policy from WotC - which has since been restructured
by their owners - I would take every precation to stay "under the radar".

If I remember right, the old "gentleman`s agreement" on conversion books was
that they were OK if they were straight conversions. Making a full adaption,
or including and expanding on the base source material, was not covered. If
someone purchases the Birthright title, they are likely to eiter bye your
product (perhaps using some or all of it, but modified to their tastes) or
    ask you to desist.

However, I don`t think anyone will ever bye out Birthright - so I think you
are safe in this regard. But I would still advice you to do everything you
can to stay under the radar.

This is likely to be done. I should point out that the list I've posted above is a very early draft. Some domains mentioned wil be culled (Personally I don't think Nesirie needs 6 domains, I'll probably reduce that to 4). Names, domains spells, etc are all still being decided and until actually agreed on and sanctioned by the BR development team, anything I post should be look on as a DRAFT version.

I believe, as it stands, anything published by Birthright.net (as the official Birthright Website) can include material from any of the birthright sourcebooks, providing the necessary disclaimers are included. This includes images, provided a short disclaimer is embeded in or below each image, text, names, concepts, etc. This assumes that anything we publish derives no income in any way shape or form and remains a fan created free download.

However, I should point out that so far the BRCS has been completely rewriten. Certainly it includes some of the old material (names, a couple of the tables, spells, etc), but rather than copy it word for word, we have rewriten and expanded the entire rulebook. It remains Birthright, but do not expect an exact copy of the old 2E rulebook and rules.

And I agree with your last comment, I don't think anyone is likely to buy out Birthright anytime soon. I also doubt WotC has any intention of publishing new material, although some things are making it into products Rich Baker is working on, especially his novels.

Excellent! This was exactly what I would gave him too...

But which storm domain? The FR version, Travis Doom's or the weather version of "deities and demigods"? (PC's [DM's] choice?)
May Khirdai always bless your sword and his lightning struck your enemies!

What about leaving the people who are trying to work on this some peace? One
of the reasons a project like this is not a project is because of the
difficulty of coordinating all the diverse viewpoints that exist.

In this case, some advance information was spilled on a subject that is as
yet not even a preview - you can`t press for details at this point, or the
people working on this will mum up completely.

    /Carl

Well, until the BRCS doesn't arrive, here is how I use domains IMC:
    Avani-------------------Knowledge, Magic, Sun
    Belinik------------------Destruction, Strenght, Fear*
Cuiraécen--------------Strenght, War, Storm* (seens everyone agrees here! :))
    Eloéle-------------------Trickery, Darkness*, Thievery*
    Haelyn------------------Protection, War, Nobility*
    Kriesha-----------------Death, Suffering*, Winter*
    Laerme-----------------Fire, Charm*, Craft*
    Nesirie------------------Travel, Water, Ocean*
    Ruornil------------------Magic, Moon*, Spell*
    Sera---------------------Luck, Fate*, Trade*

*Domains not listed on the PHB. Some of these I took from other books, others I created.
Note that, while I didn't listed, every god has the domains of his alignment...
And I didn't gave Erik domains because his priests are druids, not clerics.

Sorry - this came trough as very harsh. I have nothing, peronal or
otherwise, against you or your question. My point was just tp let these
people work on their project without having to spend time explaining every
    half-finished though they have.
