Tis it a curse or be it a disease. I have heard of a disease called lycanthorpy that would have that effect on you. The Abbess should also have the power to cure you from such disease! It would probably cost you a sermon and a drink though.

nay it sould not be a curse...I hope! After smitting the yeti his final blow I was enveloped in a strange light. next thing I know all my hair falls out exept my beard. And when I get mad I turn into a bear.
