    I try to match with the mood or current loaction of the game;
    At court or on the road, some classical is fairly good, during combat
    soundtracks from either Conan or Krull
    Travelling through the Khinasi, something Eastern (some of my players have
    done belly dancing, so I often have several sources from which to borrow).
    Dark classical for the shadow-world, and when they`re really over their
    heads - Some Guns`n`Roses :-).

    In Kinashi Loreena McKennit is perfect. Also a good choice are the usual Soundtracks: LotR, Gladiator etc.

    Further I use COmputer Soundtracks like Outcast, Dungeon Keeper etc.

    In principal music is not everytime a good way of creating atmosphere, it depends on the players, the mood and the situation.
    my purpose is now to lead you into the Pallace where you shall have a clear and delightful view of all those various objects, and scattered excellencies, that lye up and down upon the face of creation, which are only seen by those that go down into the Seas, and by no other....

    Hum, that's should be good, using the soundtracks of games like Baldur! I will do this...

    I'm my group (who happens to be the same as Owen) we use most the following:

    Conan (Conan IS D&D)
    13º Warrior (IMO the best after Conan)
    Gladiator (very good too)
    First Knight
    Braveheart

    and some others...
