Here is a rough map of my Aduria, in beautiful ASCII Art. Aduria is
being based off the eastern Mediterranean, Middle East, and northern
Africa; whereas Cerilia is Western & Northern Europe.

    **Western & Northern Europe Here**
    ___
    /V Z|
    /B B| /--|
    ----/R A M------/ D |
    / :.M2...:...|
    ?? : E : /
    ....../-B2 /
    . Z2/ -/
    ..../ **Oriental Here**
    ?? /
    ------
    **Sub-Sahara Africa Here**

V = Original Vos homelands. Culture undecided, maybe proto-eastern
    european. Language was Indo-European.
B = Original Brecht homelands. Early Dutch/German. Language was
    Indo-European.
R = Original Rjuven homelands. Early Scandanavian. Language was
    Indo-European.
Z = Original Azhuri homeland. Babylonian. Language was Afro-Asiatic.
    B = Original Basarji homeland. Berber/Sabaean. Language was Afro-Asiatic.
    M = Original Masetian homeland. Minoan/Crete. Language was Afro-Asiatic
    (basing it off Etheopian).
    A = Original Andu homelands. Tuetons/Anglos. Language was Indo-European.

Note that these lands are simply the original homelands of the
Five/Six/Seven Tribes. The natives of these lands have migrated on to
elsewhere. It is now badlands, filled with beasts and savages.

M2 = New Masetian civilization. Actually is a copy-cat civilization,
since Masetains have lost their identity and are now wondering Gypsies.
Based off Myceneans and other Aegean peoples.

B2 = New Basarji civilization. Is a mix of Sabaean (magic lamps, flying
    carpets, etc) and Persian.

Z2 = New Azhuri civilization. Is a mix of Babylonian and Byzantium.

E = Possibly an Egyptian culture.

D = Possibly a fierce desert "barbarian" culture based on the Arabs of
Northern Arabia (as opposed to Sabaeans of Southern Arabia), and various
fantasy peoples like Aiel from WoT.

?? = got to fill in the blanks with other cultures.

The original Basarji homeland was not on Aduria, but on another continent
southeastish of Cerilia; the name escapes me, something like Djapar I
    think.

Yes, you are right that the Basarji came from Djapar before going to
Khinasi. I shouldn`t have assumed people would read my "The Azhuri"
piece from yesterday and see that IMC the Basarji originated from the
same region as the other tribes (northern Aduria, that is), but were
forced out of it by the Azhuri, Azrai`s tribe IMC. Also, IMC, Djapar
isn`t another continent, but the eastern most region of Aduria. I do
this in order to make Aduria contain all eastern Mediterranean, Middle
    Eastern, and north African cultures.

    I dunno about that...
It does talk about how different the Basarji languages and stuff are.
For the record, do you see the Masetians as having a written language?
From my understanding the Rjurik, the Vos, the Brecht, and the Anuirean
all lacked written languages (since their modern writings, where they
exist, use sidhe or karamhul alphabets).

Yes, I began this project expecting to have to really do some bending to
the BR history, but was surprised at what I came up with. It ends up
fitting well. As you mention, the Rjuven, Brecht, Vos, and Andu did not
have a written language. Note that on my map they are all along the west
coast of the northern tip (well, the Andu are actually in the center,
but it still fits). The Azhuri (my creation, see previous post on them),
Basarji, and Masetians are all along the east coast of the tip. The
first group uses languages in the real world Indo-European branch (Vos =
slavic, Brecht = dutch/german, Rjuvik = scandinavian, andu = teutonic).
The second group are looking to all have Afro-Asiatic languages, but not
quite sure about that yet. Still need to do more researching.

Besides, since the Basarji were kicked off the tip so early in history,
they probably developed most of their modern language seperate from the
others. After all, I`m talking like 5,000 years here.

But a good point, and one I`ll keep in mind.

    Please use some original cultures.

They don`t exist. You cannot invent new cultures, the best you can do is to
recombine elements of existing cultures. Creativity is a recombination
    process.

It is also true that by borrowing from known cultures, players are able to
substitute knowledge of that culture rather than flounder haplessly in a
culture their character`s have lived in all their lives.
