You know, something just occurred to me and I wonder what you guys think
about it.

There`s been some debate about how awnsheghlien and ersheghlien should be
represented in BR when translated the system into 3e. Some people like
using templates, while others like the idea of a prestige class. Why not
both? More accurately, why not make awnsheghlien a template and
ersheghlien a prestige class? That way the transformation of awnsheghlien
is automatic and uncontrollable from the POV of the character (which is how
it is described in the 2e BR materials) while the transformation of
ersheghlien is voluntary (ditto.)

It does kind of make the awnsheghlien more powerful, since they needn`t
spend character levels to gain access to their blood abilities, but I think
that might actually be sensible, given the nature of Azrai`s corruption and
all.

Does that sound sensible or is it the REM deprivation and caffeine talking?
