    Legendary Beings 1: The Darklords

OK, folks, the first installment of the "Legendary Beings" series is up in the Supplements section of the birthright.net downloads area.

For those of you who have been poking around in the appropriate message board areas, you'll know there's been a little trouble uploading this file. I had to split it into thirds to get it to upload, and I couldn't get the icons to change to the nice cover art/graphic like I did for the previous files. I've attached the cover, title page and back cover graphics in this message just because... well, I made the things. Can't hurt to put them up somewhere....

This document is dedicated to awnsheghlien whose power and authority reaches the domain level in one way or another. They have realms, appear as "warcards" on their own, or otherwise could be have an influence upon a campaign at more than the most basic adventure or "Monster" random event.

Anyway, by way of background, most of the long-time members of the BR community will have seen versions of the characters presented in this text, as I've been posting them from time to time. The Jackal, The Lindwyrm, The Phantom, Redclaw, The Sandman and The Vulture of Vosgaard were all posted at one point or another. The versions presented in this document are updated a bit, and changed here and there from the versions first presented.

The Waste Worm, however, is new.

I have enough materials for a sequel which I'm currently called "Legendary Beings 2: Foul Beasts" and that one will include some of the more adventure level awnsheghlien, though one or two also have a "warcard" in their descriptions. I have some more work to do on that document, however, so it will be a bit before I can post it. I'd say I'm around 90% done with that, but that last 10% is often a lot of work....

A third text "Legendary Beings 3: Creatures of Light" is in the works. At a guess, I'd say that one is about 50% done.

After that? Who knows? I have ideas for a couple hundred (around 230) awnsheghlien and ersheghlien.... If these documents are a guide, that's enough for another 25-30 sequels.

Legendary Beings 1: The Darklords is back up in the
    Downloads/Supplements section.

Note: It looks like some folks are just downloading part 1 of this
file. You`ll need BOTH files (parts 1 & 2) to unRAR the file. Put
them both in the same directory and open up normally.

If you only download part 1, you`ll get a pop up "You need to have
the following volume to continue extraction:" followed by the
filename for part 2. If you hit OK then the same window pop up
immediately (faster than you`ll probably even notice) until you hit
cancel. However, hitting cancel means you get a nasty error message
"Legendary Beings 1-The Darklords.part1.rar: CRC failed in Legendary
Beings 1-The Darklords.pdf. The file is corrupt." The file isn`t
    really corrupt. It`s just incomplete.

New awnshegh: The Extracted One. Wynn Rarr was an archivist at the
College of Sorcery until he came across a book that contained spells
allowing a wizard to temporarily change bloodline derivations and
blood abilities. During his experiments with the incomplete text,
however, there was a strange and terrible accident in which his own
bloodline was corrupted and Azrai`s foul curse took him over
permanently. Now he wanders the highways of Cerilia vexing the
communications of the continent by waylaying messengers and
translating the letters they carry into strange, incomprehensible
gibberish that only he seems to understand.

Just to note, folks, the awnsheghlien described in Legendary Beings
1: The Darklords are much better than The Extracted One. (I hope.)

Anyway, I deleted the old RARs and uploaded new ones that have a
little text in the comments section explaining the two files
thing. Most of the folks around here are, no doubt, computer savvy
enough not to need that kind of thing, but it can`t hurt to explain
to those still using dial-up how this kind of thing works since I
think it`d take 2-3 hours to download the thing at 2400 baud....
