map test
this is a maptest in flash i made a while ago.
you can drag the whole map with your mouse and zoom in with your mousewheel.
there are no limits set on zoom, so dont zoom in or out too much
its quite a big map (7mb) so takes a while to load.
around chimearon are some dynamically placed objects

I have just tried it on my Linux machine and I can't zoom back to see the entire map at once. I can zoom in however using the Flash menu (but not the scrollwheel)
Kubuntu Linux 2.6.24-27-generic, KDE 3.5.10
Firefox 3.0.19

i had some flaws yes, the main purpose of the test was to see if the quality of the map stays the same when using the 3d option of flash..
since you can "scroll/zoom" all the way to the back/top of the map and you can still read the things written on the map it was successful.
now months later google has enhanced its maps engine.. so no need to reinvent the wheel.
(see demo here: http://shiba.iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp/membe.../gmap-pv-demo/ )Te audire non possum. Musa sapientum fixa est in aure.
