There appear to be some discrepancies between the pages for the various members of the Alam family.

    Carilon Alam, the Duke (http://www.birthright.net/brwiki/index.php/Carilon_Alam)
    - He has already outlived his wife, Elaene Laraeth, who died in 531 MR. They had three children, including Carilon's designated heir, Soraene Alam. In 535, he married Juliet Tael

    Taelan Alam (http://www.birthright.net/brwiki/index.php/Taelan_Alam)
    - Taelan’s traumatic childbirth killed his mother, Elaene Laraeth
    - the dark natured heir to the throne
    - possessing at best a disinterested father,

    Soraene Alam (http://www.birthright.net/brwiki/index.php/Soraene_Alam)
    - the only daughter of Carilon Alam, Duke of Alamie, and his youngest child.
    - Like her younger brother, her life is still very much run by her father
    - Carilon hopes his daughter will take over the duchy on his death, preferring her to his mad son, Taelan Alam. The duke has yet to make this decision public knowledge though

    Alam family tree
    • Carilon Alam, Duke of Alamie, married to Elaene Laraeth
      • Soraene Alam
      • Taelan Alam

So, how many children, which order were they born in and who is the heir? And does dad actually interact with them and/or control their lives?

I read somewhere that Carilon's firstborn died in battle,so three children is the correct number.
Soraene Alam of course can't be the youngest child of Elaene Laraeth if her mother died with Taelan's birth.

Soraene wasn't consistent on her own page - youngest child with a younger brother? I changed her to second child...

That's all very well, but the references to the "heir" throws me. Both Soraene and Taelan are called the heir. And it seems that neither were the oldest child. One page says it is public knowledge as to who is the Duke's choice; another says it is a secret.

Also, the pages seem to disagree on whether the Duke has much to do with Taelan's life or not.

And I have no idea whether any of this is canon.
