Wiki add in
I'm reading around & it's not really addressed - is there a house rule tag that automatically places the page on the house rule list or should I edit:
http://www.birthright.net/brwiki/index.php/House_rules
by adding: *Mirviriam's Siege System
To reflect a new page birthright.net/brwiki/index.php/User:Mirviriam/Sieges ?

The list on House rules is manually constructed. However, there is a that is well used. I notice you have already placed your pages in that category.
The general way we have been doing things is that people add their house rules onto their user pages (like you have) and then place a MYHOUSERULEPAGE link on a related page. Personally I see that as more important than the list on the House rules page.
For instance, your siege page could have a link somewhere on a BRCS battle page, and perhaps the domain spells link could go on a BRCS page about realm magic or realm spells. Either way, I would link it somewhere. If someone finds a better place for it, they will shift it.

I had hoped that the house rules page, and various other pages at the bottom of the wiki, would become something akin to an index. In practice it hasn't been very successful, and we would probably be better with direct links to the most common categories. Sigh

well we could make a portal page for userpages and list it in the menu to the left

i have made/copied the portal structure from wikipedia a while ago, hoping to make it of some use for the atlas, brcs etc
but lack of time pushed it to the back of my todo list
http://www.birthright.net/brwiki/ind...rtal/Directory
only portal there:
http://www.birthright.net/brwiki/index.php/Portal:AtlasTe audire non possum. Musa sapientum fixa est in aure.

Is that list automated like other parts of the wiki - so we just tag it & it generates? It looks interesting, what's the purpose versus the general wiki entrance?

nope, unfortunately it is not automated, its meant to be for landing pages for certain topics.
it does have some randomized display of article build in though.
the purpose is to have specified information together.
the general wiki entrance is "just" a page where we say hello welcome to the wiki bla bla bla.
portal pages however can be used for multi purposes.
its kinda hard to explain, but if you look at the portal pages of wikipedia you know what i mean
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:List_of_portals
it could be used for domains (example http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Peru)
or maybe an anuirean portal like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Ancient_Rome
it could even be used for ongoing pbems to create new pages with domain statistics.. or userpage collections.
they are simply said collection pages of certain information belonging together, easily to be found.Te audire non possum. Musa sapientum fixa est in aure.

It's an interface that gives information about a specific purpose...I get it now
