    Isolde Mierelen

    Discussion thread for Isolde Mierelen.

So what relation is Isolde Mierelen to the Duchess of Brosengae? Even assuming that the Mierelen family emigrated to Brosengae after Avanese domination of Mieres, Isolde must be related to Eriene in some fairly easily traceable manner.

I have a much better sense of how Isolde is related to her Vorynn bloodline cousins but my general assumption is that the Brosengae line and the Mieres line have been distinct for some time, but that given their close blood strength, they probably intermarry say every third generation. Second cousin reconnection to the other branch would make sense on a variety of levels.

I have no precise ideas on this, and won't not generally form any until I start working the genealogy backward for Isolde Mierelen (Mhistecai), Niela Braeloren (Hermedhie), and Paeghen Aneirin (The Wizard) all at once.

I would presume that Isolde has a mostly Vorynn bloodline, that her ancestors include other Vorynn bloodlines as much as non-Vorynn collectively, while the Brosengae branch is probabaly a Basaïa dominant with a strong Vorynn lurking right behind it.

This means Isolde could have a mother from the Brosengae branch with no problem, while the connection going the other way needs to be a bit more remote or the current bloodline would be Vorynn. Remote could be in degrees (it was a child of a second child with a less fortuitous marriage and a lower bloodline) or in time (a few more generations ago).

If you have any ideas you want to develop I will include them in my assumptions.

I was assuming that Eriene's Elven mother provided her Basaian blood, considering that we've established that her father was a Taliern (and thus Vorynn). I'd imagine that the Brosen Mierelens (the "native" ones) are generally Anduiras though.
