    Desperately needed useless trivia!!!

I'm running a new BR campaign, one of my players is running Coeranys.

My question: What is the TITLE for the ruler of Coeranys?

Ruins of Empire refers to Coeranys as a kingdom several times, but only refers to the ruler as 'regent'.

The entry in the wiki for Eluvie Cariele says she is the baroness. Considering that Barons and Baronesses tend to have a higher order of precedence in Anuire than they do in Europe, that sounds fine to me (cf. Baroness Roesone).

"Regent" simply means "one who rules". Nowadays it means someone who rules in place of the rightful ruler, e.g. a child king or a senile queen. Using it in the strict Latin sense as BR universally does just seems ineducated with the modern use of the word.

Ius Hibernicum, in nomine juris. Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum sonatur.

Well, you need a word to cover the ruler, 'righteous' or otherwise, for everything from realms to sources - so regents is one of the few options.

I'd call her a baroness, or marquis/marchioness as she is on the wild frontier.

Many games give her the title Duchess as well, on the grounds of the Cariele name.
