I was reading the biography for this fine gentleman but was confused.

Manchamps reports directly to Prince Avan on the situation in Dhoesone and the surrounding realms – and whether Caliedhe Dosiere’s family is reporting well on the knights.
What is meant by "reporting well" and what would the Chamberlain's family have to do with it? Is this supposed to mean "whether the Chamberlain's agents were telling the truth about the activities of the Knights of Avanil"?

    Sorry, I'm clearly being obtuse.

Helaene Dosiere runs the Dhoesone court, I figure that Avan sent the knights (or more accurately sent the core officers and funds) to 'prove' to the Chamberlain that he cares for the empire, is a worthy successor to Roele, etc, etc.

From the Avanese perspective Helaene's goodwill is therefore more important than Fhiele's. If Halaene describes the Avanese knights as roaming thugs then Prince Avan loses face back in the Imperial City, if they win fame, honour, etc, etc then Prince Avan gains face - the actual state of Dhoesone is irrelevant really, the only reason they are there is to make Avan look good.

Much better. Thanks for clarifying all that up. With all the NPCs we have added to the wiki, sometimes it is getting a bit hard to remember who is related and working to who and what each of their plans are.

Keeping it straight can be a major problem - particularly with families as their names are similar.

If I ever finish Dhoesone I'll do a plots and rumours summary...

Indeed, although the matrix will be interesting.
