    Thumbs down Illrigger style

I absolutely loved the Illrigger in 2nd edition. However, I really wished they would have converted him over to 3.5. So, instead I created him. Now he doesn't get all of those insaine followers, unless of course he took some epic leadership feat. I did somewhat tweek him, let's see if you guys like this:

    1st 1 2 0 0 Aura of Evil, Detect Chaos, poison use
    2nd 2 3 0 0 Dark blessing, smite chaos 1/day
    3rd 3 3 1 1 Aura of Despair, Chaos resistance +1
    4th 4 4 1 1 Sneak attack +1d6 , Fiendish follower ( Lemure)
    5th 5 4 1 1 Smite chaos 2/day
    6th 6 5 2 2 Chaos resistance +2
    7th 7 5 2 2 Sneak attack +2d6, Fiendish follower ( Nupperibo)
    8th 8 6 2 2
    9th 9 6 3 3 Smite chaos 3/day, Chaos resistance +3
    10th 10 7 3 3 Sneak attack +3d6, Fiendish follower ( Spinagon)
    11th 11 7 3 3
    12th 12 8 4 4 Chaos resistance +4
    13th 13 8 4 4 Sneak attack +4d6, Fiendish follower ( Barbazu), Smite Chaos 4/day
    14th 14 9 4 4
    15th 15 9 5 5 Chaos resistance +5
    16th 16 10 5 5 Sneak attack +5d6, Fiendish follower ( Osyluth)
    17th 17 10 5 5 Smite chaos 5/day
    18th 18 11 6 6
    19th 19 11 6 6 Fiendish follower ( Hamatula)
    20th 20 12 6 6 Axomatic Body, Final Judgement

Illrigger Magic User spell level Cleric spell Level
    level 1 2 3 4 1 2 3
    5 1 -- -- -- -- -- --
    6 1 1 -- -- 1 -- --
    7 2 1 -- -- 1 -- --
    8 3 2 1 -- 1 -- --
    9 4 2 1 1 2 -- --
    10 4 3 2 1 2 1 --
    11 4 4 2 2 2 1 --
    12 4 4 3 2 2 2 --
    13 4 4 4 3 2 2 1
    14 4 4 4 3 3 2 2
    15 4 4 4 4 3 2 2
    16 4 4 4 4 3 3 2
    17 4 4 4 4 4 3 3
    18* 4 4 4 4 4 4 4

Axomatic Body – At achieving 20th level the Illrigger must visit the Plane of Law and has the ability
absorb the essense of it and acquiring the axomatic template.

Final Judgement – This is by far the only chaotic ability the Illrigger can attempt. The Illrigger can
try to summon a higher level hit dice devil to aid him, however there is a 10% chance of the
difference in the Challenge Rating (CR) that the devil will instantly turn upon him. If the CR is the same as the Illrigger
then there is still a 10% of failure.
If an illrigger summons the same devil it has the previously it has a 20% chance per CR difference
to turn on him. If an Illrigger summons an Arch Devil, he will need to sacrifice 10,000 gp worth of
magic items per CR of the Arch Devil.

Chaos Resistance – By aligning himself with the plane of LAW the Illrigger gains the ability to add his bonus
bonus upon any SAVE cast by a spell, a caster or magical item that has chaos in it's alignment or type.

I played tested this character and surprisely he actually didn't do as well as I thought he would. Even after successfully sommon a PIT FIEND, our party barely made it out alive from taking on a Wyrm Green Dragon.

I've (somewhat belatedly) moved this into a different to get any exposure it might be due, rather than resurrecting an ancient thread.
