    Yet another elf thread

I had a thought this morning. It has been suggested that (some) sidhe are in hiding, building their strength and preparing the ground for a moment when they will re-emerge and reclaim Cerilia, or at least their dominant place in it.

The dragons are also missing, and we know of at least one case where a dragon was aiding the elves (Tuarhievel's lost lore-keeper).

The sidhe that are the hardest to contact are the ones in far northeastern Cerilia-- Tuar Annwn. The dragons that are hardest to contact are also in far NE Cerilia-- Drachenward and the Klessberg glacier.

Connecting those dots-- are the dragons and sidhe (some of them, anyway) conspiring to combine forces and re-assert their dominance over Cerilia? I"m thinking this may be IMC.

Further along, have the sidhe tried to sign on the giants? (Oh, look, an exucse to spring the old G1-2-3 series on my players!! )

    Interesting conspiracy theory.

The amount of conspiracy theories available is one of the absolute strenghts of any "political rpg" like Birthright. Some regents try to reinforce rumours/myths to appear strong or inconspicious and so on. You can only trust yourself and your intellect.

Who can say what is true? only the GM, but they'll probably prefer to make it even more complex and keeping you guessing =)

I`m quite skeptical when it comes to conspiracy theories in real
life, but in a game (particularly a political fantasy game) most of
the conspiracies really should be real, shouldn`t they? There really
are mole people and bizarre aliens trying to manipulate things. (Or,
at least, dwarves and awnsheghlien....) Sure, it might be amusing to
have a "lone bowman theory" that actually turned out to be the
truthe--just to keep the players on their toes--but most often there
really should be movers and shakers involved in some intricate web of
    intrigue and manipulation.

If a world is coherent and sensible then it is possible to unravel mysteries by assembling evidence and reason to the truth. A bigger problem with hidden information and secret societies is that uncovering secrets takes a long time.

I prefer a game world full of secrets, but there is certainly no fun devising all of these secrets if I am the only one who ever knows them and the players can't make any sense of their gaming enviroment.

Absolutely. I`m looking forward to constructing the clues for them to
    follow.
