    Bloodline Ability: Heightened Ability

In the wiki the following is stated:

    Heightened Ability
    Level: Minor

    Derivation: All except Masela

The old powers each cherished different traits in their followers and embodied these characteristics. The resulting bloodlines often show near-divine examples of strength, intelligence, or beauty.

Minor: A scion with this attribute gains a +2 increase in the applicable ability score. The abilities associated with each derivation are as follows: Anduiras - Charisma or Strength (choose which one or roll for it when this ability is gained); Basaïa - Intelligence; Brenna - Dexterity; Reynir - Constitution; Vorynn - Wisdom; Azrai - Charisma or Intelligence (choose which one or roll for it when this ability is gained).

Heightened ability is not a spell like ability it is an increased ability like that from every 4th character level.

My DM's version of this ability states that the scion only receives a temporary 1d4-1 bonus to the ability score instead.

Is my DM using a past version? I understand that it's my DM's choice, but I was wondering where the discrepancy is coming from. I've been using the wiki to create my character, so I'd like things to match up as best as possible.

    Thanks!

    Yes,

That version is what is in the BRCS - playtest.

The wiki is up to date with the revised and sanctioned versions of Chapter 1 and 2.

You might want to compare what rules he is using.

They changed drastically for chapter 1 and 2 when they were updated.

Scion classes are the norm for accounting for major and great bloodlines (no templates), the magician and noble classes were completed redone.

    Paladins were reworked.

Blood abilities, blood score and pretty much everything having to do with bloodlines was revised with the sanctioned chapter.

Follow this link for pdf versions of the chapters.

I've been using the PDF playtest for a long time, what's the link to the whole new book? I'll just download that and print it off and replace my playtest book.

    There isn't one.

Only Chapters 1 and 2 have been revised (and sanctioned).

The link above points towards where they are located.

These do not contain any artwork and are only text and tables.

You would need to merely replace the existing ch1 and 2 from the playtest document with the "sanctioned" versions.

I'm on the same page now. Who is sanctioning the material? Richard Baker? Wotc? The Gorgon? Did it have to be submitted to them?

These were sanctioned by the members of this site via specific polls.

Products put out on this site (the Official fan stie) are considered "official" by WotC.

Well at least until 4th ed comes out and then all bets are off snce WitC has said that the "offical" from fan sites goes away.

These links might help some in the history of the BRCS project.

I apologize that some of the links are broken (happend during one of the server change). I jsut ahven't ahd the time to do a search and re-make them. You could use the search function and try to find them your self, I believe the "topic title" for the lnk is fairly accurate as to the thread title.
