    I always considered Vos culture in Vorynn days as purely shamanistic one. They were still "savages", not like "civilized" Andu, but they were not as aggressive as Azrai Vos...

    Certainly, but do you honestly believe all shamans were peaceful IRL? Hardly so, and Vorynn granted part of his aspect, that of primal fury unlike that of nature, but that of magical, preternatural force, to some of his followers in the form of that blood power; Azrai's power is more like that of a frenzied fiend. Note that Divine Wrath is not that different in a number of ways; the difference is in the outlook and nature, not so much the result of such an effect (as anyone can attest that destruction can be laid out quite plainly to the eye of any who would observe by both powers). The reason that Vorynn has the same power as Azrai is that putting an otherwise obsolete second power just to differentiate between the two would be pointless; even bloodmarks come in differing varieties but are grouped under one ability.

    Well, thats why I said; "not as aggressive as Azrai Vos", that doesn't mean that they were peaceful... ^^;

    "Believe it or not, the Vos were once diviners and illusionists who sought truth in magic" (p.4 of BRCS). I do not know, how this approach can be aggressive, but can propose, that Vorynn's (not Vos') rage for betrayal burns now in his scions.

    The same way shamans were traditionally respected by their bands and tribes more out of fear than out of thankfulness because of their knowledge and perceived power, as it could be used as a weapon against others, and shamans were often considered halfway mad by their own communities.

    Odin was the god who bestowed the rage on the Norse, indeed his name is derived from "odur" which means rage or fury. It is likely that the berserk was actually a member of the cult of Odin. But Odin is also a god of divination and poetry. Recall, he sacrificed his eye for wisdom.

    Neither Ruornil nor Vorynn is Odin, but it does suggest how a god of magic, secrets, and the moon with a connection to wild places and things can also be a god of the rage.

    However, if you still have a problem with Ruornil's patron bestowing the rage, perhaps Ruornil did not inherit 100% of Vorynn's portfolio. Perhaps Belinik got a part of it, including the rage.

    For me, Vorynn works just fine as a source of rage.
