I`ve always said that the Gorgon (to Azrai) is too
nearly like Sauron (to Morgoth)...but then, how many
authors have NOT been influenced by Tolkien!

More in line with what the topic is about, I think
that a campaign aimed at killing off the Gorgon is
unavoidable if anyone plans to unite Anuire.

I played an Elven Monarch of the Rjurik elven realm
and it was my primary goal to take out the Gorgon and
unite the elven nations into one powerful kingdom
comprising Tuarhieval, Sielwode and Lluabraight (with
Isaelie as my queen and Tuarhieval`s Prince as the
heir to the Kingdom for politics sake) with the
Urga-zai and Markazor Goblins wiped out and the Gorgon
crushed and his lands and those of the goblins (along
with the Giantdowns and Dhoesone) serviing as vassal
lands inhabited by vassal/mercenary humans and goblin
slaves.

Didn`t work out that way, but it just shows that there
are endless variations on the "Anti-Gorgon" front.

When I played the monarch of Baruk-Azik, it was my
full intention to retake the dwarves of Mur-Kilad and
conquer the lands of the Gorgon`s Crown too. That one
worked out even less well than my elven gambit...

Over all, I like the presence of the Gorgon, just not
his seeming lack of motivation and empire building
ability.

I rethought his actions quite often, and came up with
the idea that he believes if he can devour the
bloodlines of all the scions of Cerilia, he will
actually conquer the Gods and gain dominion over the
entire world...having finally crushed his hated
brother Haelyn. He really is beyond military concern
in the world and is more motivated than many give him
credit for.

Of course that was just one thought I had.
