    What level do you prefer?

Let's ask where people have the most fun playing.

I prefer 6th level. I`ve made some decent NPCs at this level; there`s good
monsters available; and it`s about time for players to start thinking of
prestige classes so they`re on the lookout for organizations to join and so
    forth.

Mid-level for me, as a player. Tough enough to not be in danger of dieing immediately, but not so high level the game turns into fantasy superheroes.

Low level: when death is but an arrow away!

    I've always prefered level 3 to 9.
    9 max, so I'll stick with low level (1 - 5).

Problem with higher levels is that PCs rely way to much on that "acquire" magic sword, special ability, and don't try new stuff... but give them a new character and they go find different ways to get things done/solved which are more interesting to the story..

    Mid levels are the Best.

The PC's don't worry about Dieing from one hit, and it isn't too early to introduce them to major magic items. I think this is where there is the greatest wealth of sticky situations. Nearly every situation can be a danger to them, but instant death isn't as likely.

It's where both GM's and Players can shine the most.

Personally I like high levels only because I like
    playing a wizard...and they don`t really feel like a
"WIZARD" to me until they are very powerful...before
that I feel like an apprentice unable to compete with
"true users of magic" that inhabit most campaign
    worlds.

As a DM I also like High Levels, because it is fun for
me to allow the players to go in just about any
direction they like...winging it (but still keeping
track of things) is what I like best.

Guys, come on! Cannot one make one statistically decent poll these days!?

First of all, the answers mix and mingle widely different level groups; some are so diverce, actually, that the whole poll holds no water. In fact, the only two groups that make some thematic sense are [21..30] and [30...).

Not a bad idea, but the execution is pretty much wide off.

And the poll (and the responses so far) doesn't specify whether you are talking 2ed, 3ed or 3.5ed. Methinks people will have different views there.

Low to Mid level (2-9) is my preferred area for playing and GMing - looking from a 2nd ed. perspective.

Yeah, I had to choose low level due to the format, but in actuality, I prefer anywhere from 1st to 12th. In pretty well any edition.
