    Just wondering:

Are there still a lot of BR fans who use 2nd edition rules or have most converted to 3rd ed?

What would be the major argumnets for either switching to 3rd or keeping 2nd?
    Cheers

    Major arguments not to switch:

    1. Don't want to spend the money on 3ed.
    2. Not everything in Birthright is converted to 3ed.

My group bleeds 3e now. Course, for the bulk of us, we had retired from gaming till the 3e release. Now it's hard to believe us retiring again.

I only had two reasons for not switching; financial (I'm not about to spend bales of money all over again -- the only stuff I was buying was BR anyway) and the fact that I don't play with anyone that *did* switch. It's just a matter of personal taste.

3ed doesn't really cost that much does it? You can get everything you need for less than $100 :)

Have you seen the prices? If T$R had been charging as much for campaign settings (et al), they never would've gone broke ;-)

But I don't mean that their flagship books are pricey, I mean that to go and buy product as I had done for AD&D would be expensive. There's just no sense in it, since I and everyone I know still plays whatever we had been playing when WotC unveiled its creation. Those "core" books are available for free online any way, so why spend the $100 at all if those are all you're going to buy? (And if I'd known that when I bought my copy of the PHB there would be a little more room on my bookcase.)

Virtual $100 forwarded to Lawgiver's imaginary account ;)

I'm not trying to persuade people to use a lot of money on 3E. WotC is making enough already.

My point is that $100 isn't a lot for the three core rulebooks. They are all you are going to need - we have all the BR stuff already :) You could even share with you friends...
