    BIRTHRIGHT: SHADOWS OF THE FIRST KINGDOM [Boxed Set]

    BIRTHRIGHT: SHADOWS OF THE FIRST KINGDOM

    The Untamed Northwest of Aduria — A Campaign Expansion

    “Beyond the Sea of Storms lies a land older than any chart, where kings once ruled before gods bled, and the shadow first fell. Now the mists part…”

    ENTER A LAND FORGOTTEN BY TIME, BUT NOT BY POWER.

    Once the heart of the First Order of Kings, the mist-wrapped coasts of northwest Aduria now beckon the bold, the blooded, and the damned. Here lie echoes of the world before Deismaar, secrets not even the Imperial City dares to whisper.

    This deluxe boxed set brings the mythic wilds of Aduria to your Birthright campaign, with:
    📜 Inside the Box:

    Campaign Book:
    "The Land Remembers" — An in-depth guide to the cursed provinces, Celtic isles, mist-bound coasts, and fractured bloodlines of northwest Aduria. Explore Calientha, the realm of Queen Aliénora, guardian of ancient fae pacts and keeper of forgotten truth. Uncover the mystic Holy Isle, where the sword of rulership slumbers, waiting for a king worthy of it.

    Adurian Atlas:
    A fold-out regional map showing domains, cursed regions, the Isle of the Unicorn Lord, spectral war zones, and Skeldraugur, the haunted peninsula where the pureblooded Vos battle spectral invaders.

    Domain & Adventure Cards:
    New domains to claim—or fall to—like the fog-shrouded isle that no regent may enter, or the wild highlands where the Green Knight rides. Each location is steeped in myth and dread.
    Plus, high-stakes adventures like:

    The Horned King Rises: A dark echo of royal ambition returns.

    The Sword and the Soul-Forge: Seek the blade of kings through trials of virtue.

    Mistbound: Battle cursed armies that lash out through time itself.

    New Ersheghlien and Awnsheghlien:

    Calerain, the Undefeated Knight

    Kaelros, now the Horned King, twisted by his hunger for destiny

    Asgryth the Winged Woe, a male valkyrie locked in endless war

    The Unicorn Lord, guardian of the isle and the last seal against the Shadow

    The Curse of Aduria:
    A terrifying new domain mechanic—blooded characters must resist or fall to the land’s ancient grief. Regency, source magic, and divine power twist against those who do not belong.

    ⚔️Can You Reforge the Covenant of Kings?

    This is not Anuire. This is not Cerilia.

    This is the first kingdom, the broken land, and perhaps the last hope against the returning Shadow. Rebuild lost alliances with the fae. Stand where heroes once stood. Face what the gods could not destroy.

    "There was a time before the betrayal… and now, at last, the land remembers."
    One law, One court, One allied people, One coin, and one tax, is what I shall bring to Cerilia.

    You read that correctly. Sharp as you always are.

    This is stuff from my campaign notes from a game I started running about 12 years ago but I didn't finish. Over the last week I decided to put them down on computer from memory. I thought it'd be fun to present it as a boxed set above. I was wondering if there would get any activity here.

    ------------------------------------------- Chapter Outline -------------------------------------------

    **Birthright: Shadows of the First Kingdom**
    *An Adurian Campaign Setting Expansion*

    ---

    ### Overview

    Long before Cerilia rose in song and steel, before the Gorgon ruled, and before the shadow fell in full, there was **Aduria**—a land of ancient oaths, broken empires, and forgotten gods. This boxed set explores the **northwest and central coastlines of Aduria**, reconnecting the world of Birthright to the origin of its great peoples, and revealing the true cost of Azrai's corruption.

    ---

    ## Table of Contents

    1. Introduction: The Forgotten Continent
    2. Calientha and the First Order of Kings
    3. The Mistbound Celtic Isle: Tir Braonán
    4. Skeldraugur and the True Vos
    5. The Fell Vos and the Broken North
    6. The Ashen Wall and the Curse of Aduria
    7. The Anuirean Colonies
    8. The Veiled Spires and the Yak-Men
    9. The Djinn Coast and Elemental Corruption
    10. The Golden Savanna and the Beast Kings
    11. The Yaun-ti-Spine Peninsula and Tharaug
    12. New Domain Mechanics and the Curse
    13. Legendary Characters and Awnsheghlien
    14. Adventure Hooks and Campaign Arcs

    ---

    ## Chapter 1: Introduction — The Forgotten Continent

    Aduria was the cradle of the human tribes, the land they fled from, and the battlefield of Azrai's first rise. Though largely abandoned in the modern age, it still echoes with ancient magic and horrors. The gods may have died at Deismaar, but the land *remembers*.

    ## Chapter 2: Calientha and the First Order

    A realm ruled by **Queen Aliénora**, the last living scion of the First Order of Kings. Her bloodline is pure and powerful, stretching back before Deismaar. Her court is a soul-forge of virtue and chivalry. Though untouched by the curse, she is bound to guard the last vestiges of true kingship.

    ### Notable NPCs:

    * **Queen Aliénora** – Undying regent of Calientha.
    * **Calerain** – The Undefeated, guardian of the Sword of Power.
    * **Kaelros** – Her fallen son, now the Horned King.

    ## Chapter 3: Tir Braonán — The Mistbound Isle

    A holy island veiled in impenetrable mist, guarded by **Tuarann, the Unicorn Lord**. It is the last untouched land of the First Order. The spectral remnants of Azrai's army haunt the fog, held in check for millennia.

    ## Chapter 4: Skeldraugur and the True Vos

    North of Calientha, the peninsula known as **Skeldraugur** is home to the **Tharnar**, the true Vos. They never fell to Belinik, instead following Vorynn's teachings. Their magic, **Runelaga**, is based on moonlight, runes, and fate.

    ### Mythic Defender:

    * **Asgryth the Winged Woe** – A male valkyrie ersheghlien who battles the mist-bound spectral armies.

    ## Chapter 5: The Fell Vos

    Corrupted Vos tribes—known as **Skarn**—raid the Tharnar, corrupted by bloodlust and war. Warbands like the **Bonehowlers** and warlords like **Hrulf the Blood-Masked** tear through fjord domains.

    ## Chapter 6: The Ashen Wall and the Curse of Aduria

    The **Ashen Wall** marks the scar of Deismaar’s aftermath. Beyond it lies the land changed. **Tharaug**, the World-Coil, anchors the **Curse of Aduria**—a spiritual disease that resists domain magic and corrupts the divine.

    ### Curse Mechanics:

    * Blooded characters suffer backlash.
    * Divine connections are severed.
    * Domain magic fails or twists.

    ## Chapter 7: The Anuirean Colonies

    Scattered coastal settlements west of Mieres cling to Anuirean ideals but are fractured, adapting to the corrupted land. These include frontier warlords, failed governors, and heretical priests.

    ## Chapter 8: The Veiled Spires

    A mountainous southern wall houses the **Yak-Men**, secretive psionic sorcerers descended from Azrai’s pactbound servants.

    ## Chapter 9: The Djinn Coast

    Once a mirror of the Djafra, now a land of corrupted genie-worship and necromancy. Cities are ruled by pact-bound sorcerer-kings, their towers chained to bound elementals.

    ## Chapter 10: The Golden Savanna

    Ruled by **beast-lords**—centaur kings, lion-headed warlords, and rhinoceros shamans—the savanna is primal and vibrant. Spirit totems shape daily life, and the land itself judges rulership.

    ## Chapter 11: The Yuan-ti-Spine and Tharaug

    Southernmost Aduria houses the **yuan-ti empires**, the first human servants of Azrai. Their greatest act was summoning **Tharaug**, the dragon awnsheghlien whose very presence sustains the Curse.

    ### Tharaug:

    * World-class boss, like Deathwing.
    * Curse aura damages magic, kills hope.
    * Bound to Aduria, unable to leave—but watching Cerilia with hunger.

    ## Chapter 12: Domain Rules and Curse Effects

    * New rules for **Curse-Tainted Domains**
    * Mechanics for **Runelaga** and **Moon-Sorcery**
    * Bloodline loss, dream-invasions, and spectral raiders

    ## Chapter 13: Legendary NPCs & Awnsheghlien

    * **Aliénora** – Undying Queen
    * **Calerain** – The Argent Thorn
    * **Kaelros** – The Horned King
    * **Tharaug** – The World-Coil
    * **Ylsa of the Silver Flame** – Seer of the North
    * **Ssazhil** – Yuan-ti Hierophant
    * **Ishkhaara** – Necromantic Matron

    ## Chapter 14: Campaign Arcs

    * **The Sword Shall Rise** – A king-to-be emerges.
    * **The Curse Shall Break** – Rituals to sever Tharaug’s hold.
    * **The Wild Hunt Returns** – Prophecy awakens the mists.
    * **Echoes of Deismaar** – The gods’ remnants shift again.

    ---

    *This boxed set provides everything needed to launch a campaign in Aduria—from courtly intrigue to survival in cursed wilderness, from sacred oaths to the fall of titans. The Shadow rose here first… and it has never truly fallen.*

    And by presenting it this way, you make people (like me) want it. So now you are expected to produce said material. Get on it! Lol.

    It does like one of the most complete treatments of Aduria i have seen. I've not adventured in Aduria, but there are some very cool ideas in all this that might force me to do so.

    I've been putting some pieces together. There is a lot of filler to do to make it playable though. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to use the domain startup rules for a campaign, let the players work it out a bit for starters if anyone wanted to use the stuff.

    Map

    Very nice intro!

    Did you update the map of Aduria or select boundaries for the new Domains/Empires?

    I am making notes on the first order of kings campaign atm. Coming along nicely imo.

    I do have the island map rough draft made. But I just did make the isle map for domain notes. I am considering not using the crayon map and use some made up monster map to fit my writing better.

    I do have a question though. Am I making this so you can run it or so I will run you through it? A design question that I have while writing this stuff.

    Attached major NPC image.

    Aduria seems huge =)

    I overlaid the Aduria map with the Cerilia map and we can fit 20+ Anuires into the Aduria continent and there would be over a thousand provinces.

    Is that intended or did I get my scaling wrong?

    Aduria is large. Here is the Aebrynis vs Earth comparison for the Twilight Peaks campaign.

    http://www.birthright.net/forums/showwiki.php?title=Image:Aebrynis_v5_Earth_Comparison_Web.jpg

    There are various versions of the Aduria map (including this as Aebrynis v5) in the Maps section of the br.net Downloads.
