    Speed of ships

Maybe I missed this elsewhere, but search didn't turn it up.

I was wondering how fast the ships are in chapter 6. By fast, I mean how many miles per day each can travel, and thus feet per round.

I discovered an old 2E description that used movement * 5 miles per day, which gives:

    ship miles per day
    Coaster 80
    Dhow 80
    Keelboat 40
    Caravel 60
    Cog 40
    Dhoura 60
    Longship 40
    Drakkar 20
    Galleon 60
    Knarr 40
    Roundship 60
    Zebec 80

This is quite similar to the rules in PHB Table 9-6.

Movement in feet per round is thus:
    Coaster 30
    Dhow 30
    Keelboat 15
    Caravel 22
    Cog 15
    Dhoura 22
    Longship 15
    Drakkar 8
    Galleon 22
    Knarr 15
    Roundship 22
    Zebec 30

    Anyone have comments? Disagree?

    Speed of ships

Stormwrack uses (feet per round)/10 = miles per hour. With a full crew, a ship could sail/row 24 hours per day.

I don't have Stormwrack, but thanks for the info.

Using what you said, the daily miles travelled via Stormwrack rules is only slightly less than the values I have listed.

My values are similar to what Chapter 5 says a ship can travel, under the Transport character action (60 miles).
