    ADnD 2e - Birthright Campaign Setting Rulebook - page 65 - Siege

quote: "Each domain turn, the castle's level drops by one during the adjustment step. This means that a castle (6) requires 18 months (six domain turns) to reduce to 0 by siege!"

What does it mean to "reduce a castle to 0"?

Does it mean that it is razed to the ground? Are all the troops occupying it defeated/disbanded?

My understanding is that if a castle is reduced to 0, it is destroyed or reduced to a ruinous state. The regent will need to expend coin and regency to rebuild the castle to restore it to a level 6. Assuming that the invader hasn't conquered or contested.

If a castle is reduced to zero, the troops within are destroyed/defeated.
