EnWorld has some nice articles about it. There is also another one in Forbes I think.
As usual, I am really excited to see with what they come I hope the playtest is really open and we can check rules and so on earlier.

I`m sure there will also be articles in The Congressional Record and
Women`s Wear Daily.

Interesting note about FR: I asked if going forward support would be
continued for the current time after the Spellplague and the
Neverwinter Campaign. A WotC spokesperson answered, "The Forgotten
Realms has a rich history and we will support all of it. It is for
the gamers to decide which time they would enjoy playing in." That
would allow Wizards to take advantage of a massive back catalog of
products; however, there are no current plans that we know of for
other settings - we assume these will follow in later years.
That`s relevant to us BRers in that it seems to indicate that they
are going to go with a system that allows for more interpretation of
setting in the mechanics themselves. Personally, I think 3.5 (and/or
Pathfinder) is the most apt rules set for BR yet published--even
better than 2e was even though the setting originally was published
under that incarnation of the game. 4e was not, in my opinion,
particularly apt for BR--even less than 2e was. However, I
understand a lot of people want to use "the latest" system even when
playing a campaign that is 20 years old, or they don`t want to go to
the trouble to pick up and learn a second set of rules for a
particular campaign.
So, I`m not really expecting much for BR in 5e just because 4e seemed
like such a departure. However, I`ll withhold final judgement until
I actually see more. I`d be happy to be wrong on that pre-judgement.

This is the Forbes link
http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidewa...k-at-the-game/
It seems the guy writing it was invited to a private playtest in December with Mike Mearls. His final opinion seems to be pretty positive.

:^/ Well, I guess that will mean lots of work on one new world and then yet another quick rehash of the old ones. And more arguing about which system is the best. Sigh!

I still greatly prefer 3.5/Pathfinder over all the other versions of DnD/AD&D (even though 2ed had a less epic feel perhaps, which suited BR better than 3E). I'll check out this new edition of course, but it will have to damned good if I'm to shell out the kind of money I did on D&D, 1/2ed and 3E (but not on 4E).

I prefer Pathfinder (even if lot of nice thing in 2nd edition diseappear in middle in nowhere !). But i will look if the 5th edition of D&D will be better (no difficult) than 4th edition

I never loved 3X in any form. That said I never hated it. It was simply a tolerable system that a bunch of people were playing so I played. For birthright I went back to 2E and it works just as well as the day I bought it back in 96.

Will be interested in seeing the new version as always.
