[FONT=Optima][SIZE=7][COLOR=blue] I have a few questions. Firstoes anyone know of a way to kill the Gorgon The Gorgon is the only creature that I have difficulty with. The only way I have found to defeat him is to use a wand of flesh to stone, and turn him to stone.

Second: Once I have conquered half of Cerillia, one by one my allies turn against me. Is there any way to avoid this?

Finally: I would like to know if there is another Birthrite game out there? The only one I have found is the Gorgon alliance.

I don't know if its a bug, or just poor design, but any character with the hammer of thunderbolts can destroy the gorgon. Just use its lighting bolt power on him. Once you do, your character and the gorgon will act like they are fighting each other, but no hits will occur for a while. Just keep Bolting him over and over and he'll eventually die, without you suffering a single point of damage. Or you could just drink a buch of potions of invulnerability and fight him honestly. But that's just silly .

People turning against you for no particular reason is a staple of the game and will never stop unless you actually conquer everyone. And even then Chaos troops will never stop. Alliances are largely meaningless in the game anyways, since the AI is basically drunk.

Gorgon's alliance is the only game. There was talk of a second game, but it never panned out.

Hm. It`s been a while, but one technique that worked pretty well was to

employ the Confusion spell on him. He will wander about aimlessly for a

few rounds giving all the characters in the party free shots all the

while. A series of those spells (or scrolls--I think it was) that allow

you to cast the effect several times mean you can basically bash away at

him while he does nothing. It seems to me a few of these items were

available in the two adventure maps in which the Gorgon appears if you

don`t have a few stockpiled up from other adventures. Various other magics

worked very well on the Gorgon too.

You don`t want to stone him because IIRC you get no XP for doing so, and

he`s worth like 20-30k or something.

It seems to me it was also possible to stand back in the hallway and fire

missiles or magic into him. His size prevents him from entering certain

    areas. (Too tall.)

I don`t think so other than having the patch installed and playing those

    realms out manually.

The sales for the game weren`t so great, so no sequel. Too bad, really,

since it`s one of those games that just screams for a do-over IMO....

Tried hammer.......didnt work. They basically didnt do shit to him(he has like 90% MR).

Spells, same thing, level 20 wizard with ring of wizardry and spamming all spells cant kill him,it takes that + a fw rounds from level 20 fighters.

Also if he gets "stuck" or you keep spamming magic from a distance he will start spamming stone gaze.I dont care if you have +4 cloak of protection,+4 ring of protection,+3 ring of protection and am level 20 with protection from evil cast, the sheer fact he spams it means you are going to get turned to stone fast.

That and theres no stone to flesh spell means it sucks big time.

The only way you can kill gorgon is to cheat. Its pretty much impossible with the standard characters.Even a level 20 fighter dies in a few rounds. The gorgon never misses and has 3 attacks per round(player characters can only get 1 attack per round).

Hes a cheesy git, both ingame and both in BR.

Uhm... isn't that really the point? After all, he is the biggest, baddest evil thing on the planet that is active. He should be nigh impossible to kill.
