Not really.

I`ve done a fair amount of tweaking on the strategic level - ie. changed

province and holding levels, castles, roads etc.

Hmm actually has anyone found a way to do the above.

Such as edit adventures,what a item does,a unit's stats........

The editors are a bit limited in that.

Been a while since I've played with the files directly, but if you don't like the safety of the editors, then playing with the data files might be the way.
The BTLSCN.dat file contains the data of the practice battle scenario's - (although I think the options in the game allow as much flexibility as you might want). The top of the file lists the format for the scenario data, so it is fairly easy to see what to change, you just need to work out what the numbers mean and a little experimentation should fix that. For example alter the first scenario, replace it with the following;
# Scenario 1
Overkill
34 35 29 28 15 7
1 1 1 1 1
0 0 1 3

The character files (I think) are the .AVA ones, but I definately suggest using the character editor rather than file editing in this case.
The .INV file refer to the inventory (and spells) of the characters.

The dungeon scenario files are .WAD file - there should be some WAD editors still about - from memory since Doom (the original) and Hexen, WAD editors have floated about on the net.

finally, check the downloads here and in the archive, I seem to recall a whole pile of stuff being available for the game.

Hope this helps,

Doyle.

Hmm downloads here?Archive? Can you elaborate on that please?Im not sure what you mean.

Hmm now which files would be the for relics/magic items/units?

Edit : the downloads section for TGA on the left is empty. The adventure files seems to be in .scn instead of .wad though.

Try going to the splash page instead of the forums links. The downloads accessible from there are more organized and complete. There is a whole slew of TGA downloads from game saves to patches, etc.

Fantastic,no descriptions......dunno what half of them do.

Tried a DOOM wad editor.Oh it opened the adventure file all right, but i was unable to modify much, seeing as how all the items i could add were stuff like "cyber demon" or "100 armor".
