Keltier - Pasiphiel 570 MR

Medoere:

(15/11) The Medoere owned temple in Diemed has been expanded over the las=
t
few
weeks to now dominate all worship in the province of Moere. The High Prie=
st
Lenviath da Enlien is reported to be very happy with the continuing
popularity
of Rournil inside Diemed. There has yet to be a response from the temple =
of
Haelyn.

(23/11) Many visitor to the capital Braeme have reported thefts of
valuables
during the last week. The city watch is now worried that there may be a n=
ew
criminal element in town that is responsible. The watch has also asked
anyone
who has been robbed to report it so they can catch the culprits.

(7/12) News from the High Priest's palace outside Braeme reports that a
large
sum of money has gone missing from the treasury. Palace officials suspect
an
inside job. The exact amount stolen is not know but is believed to be qui=
te
high. City officials are now scouring records to see exactly how the mone=
y
could
have gone missing.

Roesone:

(5/10) A small earthquake has rocked parts of southern Roesone. The
provinces of
Ilien and Abbatour were worst hit by the disaster. Most damage has been
confined
to weak farm structures but it will be expensive to clean up. Baron Farre=
l
Kawn
has already offered to pay for the damage.

(7/10) The mercenary leader Cowan the Sword and a large number of his
troops
have left Roesone just recently bound for a destination to the east. The
mercenaries travelled by boat out of Ilien province.

(23/11) Rumours from Ghoried province speak of a new cult that has risen =
to
prominence in the province. This cult is now holding sway over several
villages
and demanding money for protection.Neither the Baron or the army has
responded
to this threat so far.

Diemed:

(4/11) Lasica Diem, the leader of Diemed's armies has hired priests from
the
temple of Haelyn to serve in the army as healers and warriors. What was
offered
to these priests to get them to serve is unknown. Also on the military
front the
army has been expanded again with several new units being commissioned.
These
new soldiers will be stationed along Diemed's eastern border.

(6/12) Trouble erupted in Moere province this month with battles breaking
out
between rival priests from the temples of Haelyn and Rournil. The priests
of
Haelyn are now claiming that Rournil's priests are using magic to control
the
people's minds and force them to worship at the temple to Rournil.

(23/12) Clashes between rival priests in Moere province have become more
common
as the temple of Haelyn steps up its campaign to oust the Rournil temple
from
the province. Violet fights have been reported in several areas across th=
e
province. One battle nearly destroyed a small village after rival priests
used
magic to against each other.

Endier:

(23/10) Lauriel Kalien and the rest of the Endier government held a counc=
il
meeting in Endier for the first time in nearly a year. The council
discussed
various plans over the direction of Endier, including an increase in
military
strength and the construction of several new vessels to carries goods to
other
parts of Anuire. Following the meeting the members of the councils held a=
n
all
night party at Caer Endier.

(13/12) A festival to celebrate the Day of Rebirth has been announced. Th=
e
city
council will supply free food and a limited quantity of ale to anyone who
attends. Minstrels, Bard, and other entertainers will be hired to keep th=
e
people entertained, and the wizard Caine has promised a display of magic =
at
the
end of the festival.

Imperial City:

(3/10) All ships that have been travelling under the protection of the
Avanil
fleet have not reported any pirate activity. Many are now taking up the
opportunity to sale under protection despite the cost of hiring the Avani=
l
ships.

(7/10) A small fleet of vessels travelling in from the east has reported =
a
battle with several pirate vessels as they sailed past Medoere. The pirat=
es
were
driven off, but at the cost of on of the merchant vessels. It seems that
the
pirates are now preying on vessels travelling east of Anuire as well as
those
heading west.

(24/10) Diemed has announced that it will use its small navy fleet to
patrol the
water south of the kingdom and protect any merchant vessels there from
pirates.
Diemed has also called on Medoere and Roesone to do the same, but so far
there
has been no response from those two kingdoms.

(3/11) Two local sailor were murdered outside the Black Rose tavern in th=
e
docks
district. Several shadowy assailants were seen fleeing the area after the
attack. There has now been 13 murders this year in the vicinity of the
Black
Rose, making it officially the worst tavern in Anuire.

(5/11) The Anuire collage of art has announced that it will be performing=
a
series of new plays in the coming spring. This announcement follows the
completion of the collage's new theatre. Many of the richer Anuirean in th=
e
city
are looking forward to the opening of the new theatre, due in two months
time.

(25/12) There has been a slackening off of pirate attacks south of Diemed=
,
although some pirate vessels have been encountered south of Medoere and
Roesone.

Spiderfell:

(25/9) There has been little sight of any goblins or spiders along the
borders
of the Spiderfell this month, but rumours of disappearances in Medoere an=
d
Roesone have many people thinking thing are not a quiet as they seem. Tho=
se
working close to the woods have reported hearing screams and other horrib=
le
sounds coming from somewhere deep within the woods. The noises have been
very
faint but our informants are sure that they are correct in the analysis o=
f
the
sounds.

Ghoere:

(4/11) Ghoere officials have announced a new alliance with Osoerde,
following
the wedding of that land duke with Fhiele Hiriele, daughter of an importa=
nt
Ghoere merchant. The alliance will allow both kingdoms to protect their
other
borders without having to worry about each other. Already Ghoere has
announced
that troops will no longer be stationed along the Osoerde border, and
Osoerde is
expected to announce the same soon.

(31/12) Ghoere has begun work on a new road that will lead from Bhalanene
to the
Osoerde port of Gulfport. Also Ghoere has purchased two warships and will
base
them in Gulfport, under the control of local Osoerde navel officials. Thi=
s
will
allow Ghoere to control a navy for the first time. The new road will also
be
open for merchants of both kingdoms to travel easily and quickly.

Gorgon's Realm:

(2/10) Troops from both sides met in combat on the western border of Edal
province. In a battle that raged for nearly 10 hours the Rhormarch forces
have
been successful in driving off the invaders. On a blood soaked battlefiel=
d
now
lie the bodies of over 500 Goblins and Orogs and nearly as many Rhormarch
soldiers and mercenaries. Details about the battle are still sketchy but =
it
look
as though the Rhormarch forces surrounded the Gorgon's troops and crushed
them
between two forces.

(3/10) The southern Rhormarch army is now heading towards Werthangen
province
after yesterdays successful battle in Edal.Although their numbers have
almost
been halved, reinforcements from the south have ensured that the army sti=
ll
outnumbers the Gorgon's troops.

(14/10) The Rhormarch forces have broken through the Gorgon's lines in
Werthangen splitting the enemy army into two segment. There are still a
large
number of enemy forces holed up in the Vicissitude Mountains, but they ar=
e
surrounded and Rhormarch is currently attempting to destroy them. The res=
t
of
the Gorgon's army has fled west into Osternod province. A large force of
Rhormarch soldiers is in pursuit.

(25/10) The battle seems to have bogged down again. The Gorgon's troops
have
been reinforced in Osternord province and have held out against almost
every
attack so far. The Rhormarch forces have also had no luck destroying the
small
army hidden in the mountains of Werthangen province.

(4/11) Soldiers in Friedlund province have fought off an invasion by
several
hundred troops from the north. The Gorgon's commanders have attempted to
break
through the lines at Friedlund and strike at Kiedel itself. The positions
in
this province have been reinforced just in case.

(16/11) Rhormarch has sign a treaty with the new ruler of the Iron Hills.
Both
sides have pledged allegiance and the Iron Hills has offered some militar=
y
support. It may be some weeks before this support arrives however.

=A0

The Iron Hills:

(14/10) The new regent Devlyn Finn already has a problem to deal with.
Bandits
in Lyssan province have taken the opportunity to raid several caravans
travelling along the road through the mountains. Lord Finn has set out fr=
om
Mhowe with a small force of soldier to deal with the problem.

(24/10) The regent and his soldiers have caught up with the bandits and
succeeded in ending their short reign of terror. The bandit forces had be=
en
using a small fort as their base, but this fort is now in the governments
hand
and a force of soldiers has been based their to keep and eye on traveller=
s
along
the east-west road.

(22/12) Devlyn Finn has met with representatives of Rhormarch and signed =
a
treaty with them. He has also promised to see what he can do about milita=
ry
aid
for the desperate kingdom. The Iron Hills now has quite a large army, but
officials are still divided about the cost of maintaining the army.

Other News:

(4/10) A battle nearly broke out between the Boeruine navy and elements o=
f
the
Avanil navy after Navel vessels escorting merchant ships west were
prevented
from entering Boeruine's waters. The Avanil ships turned back before any
hostilities could arise however.

(9/11) A strange occurrence in Mhoried. The occupants of an isolated
mountain
village were found dead in their homes by travellers recently. There was =
no
sign
of violence, just dead bodies. All the occupants of the village were dead=
,
but
none of the farm animals or other creatures seemed to have been harmed.
